Libby McNamee, the writer… Libby
McNamee (pronounced Mac-Na-Mee) was born and raised in Norwell, Massachusetts,
the middle of five children. She graduated from Georgetown University
cum laude with a B.A. in Government/International Relations with a second
major in French and received a J.D. from Catholic University School of
Law. Libby is a “recovering” lawyer who has worked in just
about every arena – the U.S. Army JAG Corps, big firms, small firms,
and large corporations. Libby
has been a freelance writer since 2004, enjoying every minute of it. She
loves to write in many genres and topics – humor, essays, profiles,
parenting, seniors, travel, creative nonfiction, and fiction. Her work
has appeared regularly in V Magazine for Women, Richmond Parents Monthly,
Fifty Plus Magazine, and www.richmond.com. She is a member of James River
Writers and the National League of American Pen Women. She
has finished a draft of her first novel entitled Operation Get-a-Life
and is currently at work on a children’s book. In addition, she
is writing a guide to the first year of motherhood, recognizing that babies
do not come with an owner’s manual but should. After
traveling all over the globe, Libby now lives in Midlothian, Virginia,
with her husband Bernie, son Sam, and personal assistant Louise who is
one high-maintenance kitty.
