Libby McNamee, the writer…

Libby McNamee (pronounced Mac-Na-Mee) was born and raised in Norwell, Massachusetts, the middle of five children. She graduated from Georgetown University cum laude with a B.A. in Government/International Relations with a second major in French and received a J.D. from Catholic University School of Law. Libby is a “recovering” lawyer who has worked in just about every arena – the U.S. Army JAG Corps, big firms, small firms, and large corporations.

Libby has been a freelance writer since 2004, enjoying every minute of it. She loves to write in many genres and topics – humor, essays, profiles, parenting, seniors, travel, creative nonfiction, and fiction. Her work has appeared regularly in V Magazine for Women, Richmond Parents Monthly, Fifty Plus Magazine, and www.richmond.com. She is a member of James River Writers and the National League of American Pen Women.

She has finished a draft of her first novel entitled Operation Get-a-Life and is currently at work on a children’s book. In addition, she is writing a guide to the first year of motherhood, recognizing that babies do not come with an owner’s manual but should.

After traveling all over the globe, Libby now lives in Midlothian, Virginia, with her husband Bernie, son Sam, and personal assistant Louise who is one high-maintenance kitty.
